Range Trip

 In Stuff We Say

gun_range_targetSaturday, May 11th we will be going to the range in Case Grande.  Our own Lyman Anderson and his buddy Lyle are willing to instruct and run the range for our group.  This is a rare opportunity to get an excellent introductory class in handguns and shoot with your friends.

Here are some questions and answers about the range trip:

Question:  I do not own a weapon, can I still come?
Answer: Of course! Lyman is bringing training weapons and live fire weapons that will be there for the introductory class and live fire.

Question: I have never fired a weapon, is this trip for me?
Answer: Yes! In fact, Lyman has arranged a basic course for newbies who need to learn from square one. This is a great time to learn from a professional.

Question: I am a little intimidated by guns, but I am curious. Will I be totally out of my element if I go?
Answer: You will not be out of your element. The introductory class is with training weapons and ammo to get you acclimated to gun safety and shooting without the huge bang or anxiety about being able to harm someone accidentally. This is, in fact, the best opportunity to satisfy your curiosity with no pressure among friends.

Question: I own a gun and have experience shooting, but I would like some tips on shooting. Should I come to the introductory class?
Answer: The introductory class will be basic, but you may glean some excellent tips from Lyman. If you shoot everyday, you probably do not need the class, but if you do not shoot frequently, you may enjoy a refresher with extra tips on performance.

Question: What is the schedule for the 11th?
Answer: Don’t you read your e-mails from us? Okay, since you do not, here is the tentative schedule we sent out:
8:00-9:30 Introduction to Handgun Class
9:30- 11:30 Live Fire (with tips from Lyman and friend)
11:30-12:15 Demonstration of other weapons and other fun stuff

Question: What is the cost?
Answer: Again, don’t you read your e-mails from us?
Introductory Class Ammo: $5
Range Fee: $5
Ammo: $18.75 per 25 rounds

Question: Can I bring my own ammo and save that cost?
Answer: Yes! Please do. Lyman will only have 9mm and 40 cal ammo available at the above price, so if you have your own or you need another type of ammo, bring it along.

We plan on having lunch after the range, so if you are interested in going, please let us know as soon as possible so that we may better plan. You can either sign up on the sheet in the gym or you can send me an e-mail letting me know if you are coming to the introductory class, bringing a weapon, need ammo and are coming to lunch. If you have any questions about the trip, ask Nicky, and if you have any weapon or intro class specific questions ask Lyman. We look forward to a fun event!
