In Stuff We Say

The New Year’s Solution Diet Challenge is over and here are the final results!

First, this is how we did as a group: 39 athletes finished the challenge. Together, we lost 193 pounds. The average athlete lost about 5 pounds.

The ladies lost a total of 68 inches from their waists, and 39 inches from their hips.  Our men lost 30 total inches from their abdomens.  The average woman in this challenge lost 2.7 inches from her waist and 1.5 inches from her hips. The average guy lost 2.1 inches from his belly.

This challenge consisted of a team and an individual competition.  For both competitions, the final score was assessed based on adherence to the daily diet, exercise, supplement and hydration prescription, which was scored by your input on your daily sheets.  This accounted for 50% of your total score.  The difference between your preliminary WOD and your final WOD resulted in an additional 25% of your score. WOD scores were calculated so that improvement at the higher end was worth more than improvement at the lower end (thus recognizing that it is much harder to go from 100 to 101 reps than from 0 to 1 rep).  Positive changes in body measurements accounted for 15% of your total score.  By “positive” we mean, inches lost on hips, waist and abdomen and loss or gain of weight depending on your diet track (hard gainers got points for gaining weight).  Finally, 10% of your score came from the online diet challenge test.

First the team results:

Congratulations to Team Kate -Nicci, Johna, Mike W., Larry, Bekah, Jenn, Richelle, Caren, Lyman and Josh C.!

As an award for their hard work, each team member will have two weeks added to their current membership.
