4 Diet Myth Busted

I know we have all heard everything under the sun about what to do and what not to do on a diet. Some is solid good advice and some not so much. Here are 4 diet myths…..

1. Low fat and Fat free diets are the best for you.

Not true. A third of your diet should come from HEALTHY fat. For example olive oil, nuts, avocado.

2. Don’t eat after 8pm

Calories cannot tell time. It is not about what time you eat but what you choose to put in your mouth. So put down the Ice Cream as you before bed snack and pick up a bowl of strawberries.

3. Carbs are all bad

Refined carbs are not good for you, starches, pasta, white potatoes, sugar, and white rice are some carbs to stay away from.
Good carbs do exists such as high fiber fruits, veggies and whole grains. Put down the mash potatoes and pick up some carrots.

4. Skipping Meals is the way to go.

Not true. Studies show that people who eat all 3 meals or small meals throughout the day weigh less because they control their hunger better than people who skip meals. Also if you skip too many meals your body goes into starvation mode and start storing fat and not burning it for energy.
