What if you could increase your performance on your CrossFit WODs without actually working harder? How is that possible you ask… well there is a four letter word that you have heard time and time again. DIET!
Providing the proper nutrition to your body will allow it to work more efficiently. The paleo track will help you shed some unnecessary pounds you may be carrying and in return you will be lighter. Making pull-ups, push-ups, handstands, box jumps and any other body weight movement much easier.
For those of you who have already done the Paleo track and aren’t looking to lose weight the Zone track is advocated by CrossFit Headquaters! The Zone is based on scientific data indicating that a well balanced diet will increase your performance. The diet allows 40% of your food to be carbs, 30% to be protein, and 30% to be fat.
More than likely there is some macronutrient you like more than others and therefore are neglecting your body of something. This diet will fill in those gaps, and the challenge, along with your coach and team, will give you the accountability to make sure they are filled.
When asked, Bekah Jennings – the winner of the previous challenge, how she felt after the 26 days on the diet this was her response. “I felt awesome. I felt like I could keep zoning with a few adjustments for my lifestyle and family culture. (I have not stuck to this as much as I had hoped, but I’m still working on finding the right balance for me.) I had visible results, but I also saw steady improvement at the box.”
